The Charles Fergusson Building was built 1975-1979 by James Wallace Pty Limited, for the sum of NZ$5,215,675Sir Charles Fergusson, was Governor-General from 1924 to 1930. His father Sir James Fergusson, was governor from 1873 to 1874 and his son Sir Bernard Fergusson was Governor-General from 1962 to 1967.
