It's that time of year again when all the Secondary Schools have their School Balls or School Formal Dances. This was a group of girls from Queen Margaret's College doing the hair and makeup thing at Kirkcaldie & Stains makeup zone .. these girls were aiming to have a great night with a Pre-Ball party and then the Ball at the Michael Fowler Centre.

This brings back memories! It won't be long before Homecoming, the first of the big formal dances at US Schools. I'm sure our make-up counters will be just as full of young girls getting ready for a fancy night out.
that must be a newish thing - we had 'formals' at wellington girls' college (remember that word?) but not balls, and I'm wondering there's a hint of americanism in it all...
